With Easter approaching, there are shades of it everywhere. In stores, among the brightly colored plastic eggs, there are displays of the sugary, pastel Peeps. If you aren’t fans of the Peeps but your children keep eyeing them in the store, there is a way to put them to use.
If you’ve ever made Rice Krispies Treats this recipe found here shouldn’t be too difficult. According to reviews, they turn out slightly sweeter than regular Rice Krispies Treats.
You Will Need:
3 tbsp butter
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
In a large pot, melt butter over low heat.
Add Peeps and stir until completely melted.
If you plan to use different colors, melt in separate color sections within the pot. Wait to mix colors.
Remove pot from heat once butter is melted.
Add cereal and stir until it’s well-coated.
Coat a 13 x 9 x 1 1/2-inch pan with cooking spray. Press mixture evenly into the pan.
Allow mixture to cool completely before cutting treats into desired shapes.
