It’s not too late to save for school

By: Team SFMC —

It’s that time of the year again when kids and families are beginning to get ready for school to start. If you are planning on going to back to school shopping, here are some helpful tips to save money.

According to the National Retail Federation families will spend on average $634.78 on back to school essentials. There are several ways to save money. For example, if you are looking to save money on clothes, you can always sign up to receive emails from your favorite stores. When you receive the emails you will get special notification of upcoming sales, offers, and even coupons! Sometimes as a special gift they will give you a coupon for signing up instantly. The same thing goes for school supplies. Staples and Office Depot offer email newsletters to sign up for school supplies.

Another helpful tip is to try to plan to go back to school shopping on different days. Although you may want to “shop till you drop” in one day, you may just save money if you try different days. Don’t settle if it’s not on sale. Chances are you can find the product somewhere else for less or if you come back another day you might just find it on sale.

Shopping on different days at different stores is also a great way to compare prices. Some stores such as Staples and Office Depot even offer price match. This is very convenient, especially if you have a rewards points card because then you will continue to earn points while saving money!

Going back to school can be stressful, but as long as you have a game plan and remember these helpful tips you are surely to succeed!
