Team SFMC participated as a sponsor and exhibitor in the 5th Annual Stand Strong 4 Education at Metz Middle School, Manassas City Public Schools (MCPS). The MCPS Education Foundation (MCPSEF) presented the free education-focused business event organized in family-friendly zones.
The event began with a ribbon cutting ceremony with Dr. Cathy Magouyrk, MCPS Superintendent, MCPS School Board members, MCPS City Council members and MCPSEF members attending. SFMC offered an iPad Mini and case as prizes for a free drawing. The winner was announced at the close of the event. Jose and his daughter Jenny, a Metz student, won the prizes and were grateful for the mini tablet computer and compatible case.
Seventy-eight exhibitors supported education with food, shows, freebies, door prizes and drawings. Manassas area residents visited businesses and nonprofits in the Wellness Zone, Children Activities Zone, Robotics Zone, School Entertainment Area and Vendor Area. There was even a hypnotist and karate demonstration.
Spirited students cheered, sang and jammed on the property with fire trucks lighting up the entrance. It was a festive night with neighbors, businesses, clubs and community organizations coming together for the benefit of education.
